The Investments & Acquisitions team draws on their experience at firms such as Lehman Brothers, PWC, Emirates Bank and McKinsey & Co. to provide investment advisory, management and execution services throughout the MENA region.

Asset Management Expertise

iB launched its first fund, Carnelian 1 ("the Fund") in July 2006, which posted impressive returns of 50% (unleveraged) over the three year term and maintained a consistent performance despite the adverse market conditions in the UAE real estate sector.

Fund Participants

The Fund was placed through Emirates Financial Services ("EFS"), a subsidiary of Emirates Bank International. The total capital raised was AED 40 million, which was pre-dominantly subscribed tO by reputed financial institutions and HNWI clientele.

Fund Structure

The Fund was close-ended and made investments in short-term opportunistic plays in the Freehold segment of UAE Real Estate Market. The Fund invested across commercial, industrial and residential sectors in opportunities identified through its strong research capabilities, transactional and market monitoring capabilities acquired through advisory, valuations and consulting relationships developed with major developers, institutions and brokerage houses in the market.

Future Funds

It is Investment Boutique's intention to build a family of funds under the Investment Boutique Investment Management (IBIM) umbrella in strategic locations throughout the MENA region. IBIM is in preliminary discussions with a number of potential partners for the firm's next foray into the investment arena, scheduled for H2 2010.
